Meet the Lesson Horses
Hancocks Blue Doc

Affectionately known as Blue, this guy can do it all. At 20 years old, Blue has been there and done that and is happy to show you the ropes. Blue stood as Alabama State Champion in the Senior Western Division in 4H, has competed at the local, state, and regional level in Western Pleasure, Horsemanship, Reining, Stock Horse, Halter, Showmanship, Boxing, Ranch, Trail, Ranch Trail, and even Barrel Racing (but he was arguably the slowest barrel racer out there). He was also used in IHSA Reining and Horsemanship during my college years, 2012-2016. He's the go-to for beginner riders, but still loves the challenge of advanced riders.

Miss Liz Leo
Miss Liz Leo, known at MKPH as Lia, is the newest addition to the lesson program. This 15-year-old mare is Hancock bred through and through and we love Hancocks! She has been used for barrels and poles before and has a strong background in ranch working and working cattle. We are thrilled to have her in the lesson program line-up and even more thrilled for her future with MK Performance Horses!

Baxter

The youngest addition to MKPH, Baxter is a 3-year-old grade gelding. A true gem, Baxter has been in training with Mary and has done nothing but impress MKPH since joining the herd as a yearling. Originally bought as a sales project, Baxter will be staying with MKPH, and while he only has a handful of rides under his belt, he is well on his way to solidifying his position as a lesson horse in the MPH lesson program!
